Five southern ladies, funny, eccentric an d charming, have their hair done and discuss life in Truvy’s beauty salon. Life takes a more somber tone when the daughter of one risks a dangerous pregnancy and pays for it with her life. The women in this play are witty, intelligent, and above all, real characters. They in no way, shape or form are meant to be portrayed as cartoons or caricatures.
