Jalila A. Bowie – Actress
Jalila A. Bowie is a native of Kansas City, MO and has a degree in Theatre Arts: Acting from Howard University. Her passion for acting sprung from working with Director Ang Lee in the motion picture “Ride with the Devil,” and being in a national commercial for Dickinson Movie Theatres. Some of her most memorable stage credits include an adaptation of “The Meeting,” “Red, Hot, Cole,” “Live And In Color,” “The Trial,” “Joe Turner’s Come & Gone,” “Love’s Labour Lost,” and “Everyday Gumbo,” performed in DC’s Studio Theatre. She has also co-starred in several independent films and is currently in production for two in the Greensboro area. Her most recent production was in “The Nativity: A Musical Experience” at Roanoke Rapids Theatre here in North Carolina. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, D.I.V.A. Incorporated - Divine Intelligent Versatile Artist, the historic Howard Players, and the National Society for Collegiate Scholars. Jalila also works as a director, stage manager, and acting/vocal coach for young artist. She would like to thank Lorraine for such a beautiful journey into her life. She ends this process by saying “If ever there’s a moment in heaven that we should meet …just know…Youse is a good girl, Dinny.”
