Andre Minkins - Director
Andre Minkins is Coordinator of Theatre at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC. He has been a professor of theatre for many years at several institutions, both near and far, and enjoys participating in the development of theatre and film artists. Minkins has produced and directed many plays throughout the country, and as the Artistic Director of 7am Productions, a theatrical performance company based in Greensboro, NC, and the International Black Film Festival of Nashville, based in Tennessee, Minkins has helped to create professional opportunities all over the country for theatre and film artists. He has written over 20 plays, and is currently working with producing organizations to develop several screenplays. As a coordinating participant with the National Black Theatre Festival, he has attended to, and/or worked with, many of theatre, film, and televisions’ most successful performers and some of the industry’s biggest stars. Minkins has led many workshops across the U.S. and counts it a privilege to return to this region again to help with the successful development of theatre and film projects.
